What are the Benefits of Verasoil?
Once we planted everything, we covered everything with sugar cane mulch, which helps to keep moisture in the soil. After this, we watered everything down to provide it all with some much needed hydration. When moving onto the vegetable box, we started off spreading good quality garden mix in the bottom, which was then filled up with verasoil and coco peat, and mixed through thoroughly. A mixture of vegetables and herbs were planted that suit the Australian climate.
Finally, we moved onto the last element: the water feature. This was created from an old laundry that was in the garden, and could not be removed. We decided to work with what we had, and transform it into a beautiful water feature. We placed a pot within a shallow tub, and connected all the necessary elements for it to be a water feature. We then partially filled the tub with verasoil, for the small shrubs we planted around the water feature, and filled the rest with small rocks.
Worm castings are the end-product of the decomposition of organic material by earthworms, resulting in a nutrient-rich organic fertiliser that is packed with beneficial microorganisms. Adding Verasoil worm castings to your garden can greatly improve the health and growth of your plants.
Here are some examples of how Verasoil worm castings can help your garden:
1. Improved Soil Health: Verasoil can improve the physical properties of your soil, such as water retention and aeration, while also adding beneficial microorganisms that aid in plant growth and health.
2. Increased Nutrient Availability: Verasoil contains a wide range of nutrients, such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, which are essential for plant growth. These nutrients are slowly released over time, providing a sustained source of nutrition for your plants. Verasoil is suitable for all plants including succulents, natives, orchids, and citrus.
3. Reduced Plant Diseases: Verasoil contains beneficial microorganisms that can help suppress plant diseases, such as fungal infections and root rot.
4. Improved Seed Germination: Verasoil can be used as a seed starting mix or added to soil to improve seed germination rates.
5. Increased Crop Yield: When added to your garden, Verasoil can improve the growth and productivity of your plants, resulting in increased crop yield.
6. Odourless: All these benefits without the odour.
Using Verasoil worm castings in your garden is easy. Simply mix a handful of Verasoil into the soil around each plant, or spread a layer over the soil surface and gently work it into the top layer of soil. Alternatively, you can create a compost tea by steeping Verasoil in water and then applying the liquid to your plants.
In summary, incorporating Verasoil worm castings into your garden can provide numerous benefits to your plants, such as improved soil health, increased nutrient availability, and reduced plant diseases. By adding Verasoil to your garden, you can help your plants thrive and produce a bountiful harvest. And through this purchase you are engaging in a circular economy that is diverting organic carbon from landfill and repurposing it back into productive soils.
